“I’m in favour of becoming a member of COPE Local 468. I consider paying dues an investment for job security, secure benefit and pension plans, and strong representation when needed.”
LJ- Medical Secretary
“I have been a part-time unit clerk on an inpatient floor for the last 5 years. There has been little opportunity for me in my non-union position to apply to a job posting for a permanent full time unionized position, since consideration for those postings are always given to qualified COPE members first. I am a single mother with a young family, working a part time job and picking up casual hours in other departments to make ends meet. Joining COPE, I know I too will be afforded the same opportunities as other unionized members; full time, steady employment with negotiated wages and benefits with a regular work schedule to balance home life and work. I know there is a COPE Advantage!"
AJW - PT Unit Clerk
“I am extremely satisfied with COPE and the work the Union does in representing me and my colleagues. There are been a lot of changes at LHSC that has impacted how we do our jobs. It is reassuring to know that we can contact our Union anytime, ask questions and have help getting issues resolved within our department. I have no doubt about the value of what this Union is doing.”
Francine Jones - PAC Clerk and COPE Member.
